Helen E. Solowey

Helen E. Solowey, of Monroe Twp., passed away Sunday August 13, 2017 at her home. She was 85. Born in New Brunswick, Helen raised her family in East Brunswick, before retiring to the Concordia section of Monroe Twp.
Helen was a legal assistant for Lutz, Shafranski, Gorman and Mahoney in New Brunswick for over 30 years, a career she highly valued and prided herself upon. She was intelligent, witty, an avid reader and superb bridge player, and delighted in conversation and sharp humor.
She's predeceased by her husband Harold H. Solowey (D. 2010) and her son Howard Solowey (d. 2009). Harold and Helen were married for nearly 60 years, and loved each other dearly.
Surviving is her daughter Jacqueline Shoshan of Morris Plains; her sister Florence Siegel; and her grandchildren Daniella and Nitzan.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 15th, 12:45 pm, at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge. Contributions may be made in Helen's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org
