Harrai V. Desai, of Milltown, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 89.
Born in Varnama, India, he came to the United States in 1988. He's been a Milltown resident for the 30 years.
Harrai was an artist and painter. He received a bachelor's degree in fine art from the Shantiketan School of Fine Arts in India. In Milltown his art work was shown in Borough Hall and the Senior Citizens Building.
He was a member of the Milltown Senior Citizens Club and Vedmandir Temple in East Brunswick. In addition to painting, he loved traveling and reading.
Surviving is his wife Pushpaben (Patel) Desai; his son and daughter-in-law Harikrishana and Shyama Desai of Milltown; his daughter and son-in-law Jaimini and Himanshu Patel of San Antonio, TX; and 4 grandchildren.
Pooja services will be held on Thursday, January 25th, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Holy Cross Crematory, Cranbury Road in East Brunswick. You may sign the online "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com . Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
