Grant F. Telleri, of Milltown, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at Fox Trail Memory Care in South River. He was 94. One of 13 children, he was born and raised on a farm in North Brunswick. He lived in New Brunswick before moving to Milltown 12 years ago.
During WWII, he joined the United States Army at the age of 16. He was a cook at the end of the war, in the fight against Japan. He was a member of the VFW Clark Moetz Post 2319 in Milltown.
He was a battery inspector for General Motors Delco Remy in New Brunswick, for 34 years, before retiring in 1980. He also built apartments and houses on the side to make extra income for his family.
Grant was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Virgin RC Church in New Brunswick. He enjoyed cooking, making wine and gardening. He loved being with this family and friends and was always helping others.
He’s predeceased by his parents Frank and Jenny (Shibilia) Telleri and twelve siblings.
Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Gloria (Tamburina) Telleri; his daughters Deborah Reba (Walid Machalany) of North Brunswick and Diane Long (Martin) of St. Albert, Alberta Canada; 4 grandchildren Ashley, Grant, Brent and Kim Marie, and 5 great grandchildren Koren, Grant, Gia, Elle and Eva.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, 9:30 am at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Remsen Ave, New Brunswick. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick.
