Geremia A. Cavezza

Geremia “Jerry” Cavezza, of Milltown, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at home. He was 87 years old. Born and raised in Scranton PA, he lived in Highland Park, Old Bridge and New Brunswick, before moving to Milltown 53 years ago.

Jerry was a proud union member of the Laborers’ Union Local 156 in New Brunswick. He served in the United States Navy and was a former member of the Italian American Club in Edison. Jerry was a NY Mets and Boston Celtics fan, and loved going to the racetrack.

He was predeceased by his wife Joan (Reid) Cavezza (d. 2022), his parents Aniello and Frances (Polizzi) Cavezza, and his sister Lucy Cavezza.

Surviving are her children Aneillo Cavezza (Michelle) of Henderson TN, Anthony Cavezza of East Brunswick, Lisa Cavezza of Milltown, Joseph Cruz (Mary) of Milltown, Angela Cogan and Jerry Cavezza, both of Tampa Bay FL; his brother Joseph Cavezza (Cathy) of South Brunswick, his sister Ann Marie DeCosmo of Elizabeth; his 12 grandchildren Joseph, Elizabeth, John, Jamie, Aniello Jr., Sierra, Jesse, Theresa, Anamarie, Jessica, Jasmine and Jacqueline; and 17 great grandchildren.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 9:00 -10:15 am, followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown.
