Gerald “Sonny” Gravina, of North Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Compete Care at Park Place in South Brunswick. He was 80. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he lived in the New Brunswick area before moving to Deer Brook Village in North Brunswick in 1986.
He was a carpenter by trade, and most recently was a maintenance supervisor at Deer Brook Village. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Peace in North Brunswick.
Sonny loved traveling to Cancun and in his younger days enjoyed fishing. One of his favorite past times was sitting on the deck in nice weather, having a couple glasses of wine or scotch.
He’s predeceased by his parents Joseph and Helen (Galatini) Gravina; his brother Teddy Gravina and his sisters Muriel Ocon and Betty Kean.
Surviving is his loving wife Dolores (Larsen) Gravina, his son Joseph Gravina (Jennifer) of Monroe Twp, his daughters Nancy Juhasz (Peter) of Jackson Twp. and Maryann Gravina of Lakeland Florida; his daughter Tara Stewart (Ronald) of Willingboro, and his sons James Kovacs of Green Valley AZ and Steven Kovacs (Jenna) of Brick; his sister Elanie DeBlasio (Anthony) of Langhorne PA; 13 grandchildren and one great grandson.
Friends and relatives may call on Monday, August 5th, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A blessing will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in East Brunswick. You may sign the online condolence “guestbook” at www.crabiel.com
