George W. Guise, of Milltown, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026 at home. He turned 98 years old on May 1st. Born and raised in Milltown, he was a lifelong resident.

George served in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in South Korea, during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 25 in Milltown.

He worked for Chicopee Manufacturing in Milltown until its closing and then transferred to Johnson & Johnson in Skillman, retiring in 1989.

George was a lifelong member of the Milltown Fire Department, where he was affectionately known as “Grandpa”. He served for over 75 years as a volunteer fireman. Milltown honored him with a street sign leading to the firehouse, known as George Guise Way. He was a life member and Past President of the NJ State Fireman’s Exempt Association and the NJ State Fireman’s Relief Association.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown, and served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Milltown Senior Citizens Club.

In 2002 George was honored to be the Grand Marshall at the Milltown 4th of July Parade.

He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Rose Guise, his brother Robert Guise and his sisters Doris Clawson and Margaret Krovath,

Surviving is his loving wife of 71 years, Dorothy (Kenyon ) Guise; his daughters Cindy Lundy of Denton, Tx, and Cheryl and her husband James (Fraz) Ferrazoli of North Brunswick; his 3 grandchildren Michael Lundy (Jenny), Matthew Lundy (Cristina) and Kelly (Lundy) Reeser (Ryan); his 9 great grandchildren Ava, Charlotte and William Lundy, Oliver, Nolan and Briar Rose Lundy, and Harper, Maddox and Stella Reeser,; his sister Rose Betzler of Milltown, sisters-in-law Sally Wells and Anne Kenyon of St. Albens, VT and many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 22nd, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 10:00 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, Milltown. Burial will follow at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. The Milltown Fire Department service will be at 6:30 pm on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Milltown Fire Department, 39 Washington Avenue, Milltown, NJ 08850.
