Francesco L. Buonocore, formerly of Milltown, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Summerhill Nursing Home in Old Bridge. He was 94.
Born and raised in Cranford, he lived in Milltown for over 50 years.
He retired from the IRS in New Brunswick. Previously he had been a police officer in Cranford.
Frank was a WWII veteran. He was in the Merchant Marines before serving in Army Air Corp. He completed 30 missions over Europe and received the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of the VFW in Cranford and the Airforce Historical Society.
He's predeceased by his wife, Flavia M. (Papa) Buonocore (d. 2013) and his daughter Marie Buonocore (d. 1980).
Surviving are his sons Louis of South Brunswick and Jeffrey of North Brunswick; his daughters Louise Maczka of Jackson, Frances Eilers of Old Bridge and Linda Donato of East Brunswick; his sister Carol Jones of Florida; 5 grandchidren and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, January 11th, from 9:00 - 10:00 am at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A blessing will be held Thursday 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans.
