Vittoria Ferrante

Vittoria Ferrante, a cherished soul, departed this world on December 14, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, care, and creativity. Born on November 18, 1932, in the quaint town of Toritto Bari, Italy, she nurtured a passion for artistry from a young age, cultivating her skills as a lifelong seamstress. Vittoria's hands, skilled in crafting beauty, were the gift of her meticulous craftsmanship; they created garments that not only adorned individuals but also expressed the tender spirit imbued within each stitch.

Beyond her remarkable career, Vittoria was a beacon of warmth, her caring and loving nature a hallmark of her personality. She embraced life’s simple joys through her many hobbies, including grading, knitting, and crocheting, each serving as a further testament to her intricate artistry and nurturing heart.

Vittoria leaves behind her beloved family, including her devoted daughter, Maria Ferrante of Milltown, and her affectionate grandsons, Joe DeSilvio (Alexandra) of Milltown and Anthony DeSilvio (Jennifer) of Union. She found immeasurable joy in her great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Giuliana, Giavanna, Anthony Jr., Santino, and Domenico, and their laughter filled her home with light and happiness. The bonds of sisterhood were essential to her; she is survived by her sisters Giulia Pesce of Toritto Bari, Italy, and Maria Ancona (Giuseppe) of Ontario, Canada, along with a treasure trove of nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

A Mass in celebration of Vittoria’s life will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown, New Jersey, on December 19, 2024, commencing at 11:00 AM, followed by a final farewell at 12:00 PM. As family and friends gather to honor her enduring spirit, let us embrace the lessons she imparted and the love she so freely gave. Vittoria will forever be remembered as an artist of life, a compassionate matriarch, and a luminous presence whose impact will resonate through generations to come.
