Evon O. Pochinski

November 9, 1944 — April 23, 2026

Milltown

Evon O. Pochinski, 81, passed away April 23, 2026. She was blessed to have her devoted daughter, Nikki Pochinski, by her side. Their bond grew even stronger following the passing of Evon’s husband, Vincent Pochinski, in 2014, and Nikki dedicated herself fully to her mother’s care.

Evon was a paradox, capable and headstrong juxtaposed with care and love. She was ahead of her time, with a style entirely her own. She formed lasting friendships and held them close, giving as much, if not more, than she received. She shared her wisdom, kindness, and laughter generously with those she loved.

She was a Milltown resident for over 50 years. Her door was always open and became a “second home” to many neighborhood children. A woman of many interests, she took pleasure in gardening, nature watching, reading, and time at the Jersey shore. She enjoyed entertaining neighbors, friends, and family with relaxing times by her pool. Holiday meals celebrated her Danish heritage.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Vincent Pochinski; her mother, Adelaide Hirner; father, Al Hirner; brother, Richard Hirner; and his wife Dixie Hirner; and brothers-in-law, Edward and John Pochinski

She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Pochinski, her sisters-in-law MaryAnn Pochinski and Betty Ann Pochinski, as well as several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends whom she considered family.

Nikki extends her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Yager and VITAS Hospice for their guidance, support, and compassionate care.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either Dementia Society of America or American Cancer Breast Cancer Fund. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. You may sign the online condolence “guestbook” at www.crabiel.com
