Estelle Elkind Nyer
December 25, 1918 — July 7, 2017
Estelle Elkind Nyer, of Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017. She was 98. Born in Manhattan, she lived in Far Rockaway and Forest Hills, NY before moving to Tinton Falls 12 years ago.
Estelle's family fondly remembers her wonderful zest for life. Estelle loved to travel and had a tremendous sense of adventure. She was also passionate about theater and music, and enjoyed performing at the Community Theater in Forest Hills.
Estelle is predeceased by her daughter Toby Laschewer. Surviving is her son Barry Nyer of Acton, MA; her daughter Rosilynd Hillary Gensler-Cresci of East Brunswick, NJ; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 9th, 3:00 pm at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ. Shiva will be observed at the Gensler-Cresci home in East Brunswick, NJ on Sunday, July 9 following the funeral, and from Monday, July 10 to Friday July 14 from 1:00– 4:00 pm and 7:00-9:30 pm; and at the Nyer home in Acton, MA on Tuesday, July 11 from 7:00-9:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Lustgarten Foundation or The Jewish National Fund.
