Eric A. Dean, of Old Bridge, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Raritan Bay Hackensack Hospital in Old Bridge. He was 90. Born in Venezuela, he grew up in Puerto Rico. He lived in The Bronx before moving to Old Bridge 49 years ago.
Eric served in the United States Army during the Korean War. For many years he served as a quartermaster at the VFW Clark-Moetz Post 2319 in Milltown. He was proudly elected to commander.
He retired from Primerica, where he taught financial services. Previously he had a 17 year career as a distribution manager for Bristol Meyer Squibb in New Brunswick.
Eric was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church in Old Bridge. His two passions were helping others. He would stay up many nights behind the computer working with his students via video chat. Nothing made him happier than a student passing the state exam. The other passion was laughing & smiling. Everyone who knew Eric, will attest to that.
He's predeceased by his son Arnold Dean (d. Dec 2021), and his brothers Donald and Raymond Dean.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Nora (Ramos) Dean; his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Darlene Dean of Rock Hill, SC, and his son Ken Dean of Old Bridge; his grandchildren Tanya, Christina, Erica and Anthony; his brother Dennis Dean and his sister Iola Dean, both of The Bronx.
