She was raised in Fords, later moving to Woodbridge before settling in North Brunswick, where she proudly resided for over half a century.
A cherished member of her community, Elizabeth was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in North Brunswick. Her faith guided her through the joys and challenges of life. Elizabeth found happiness in the simpler pleasures, from the tranquility of fishing trips with her late husband Edward to sunny days spent golfing together. Cooking, gardening, and crocheting were her favorite pastimes, each a reflection of her nurturing spirit and love for family.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward O'Brien in September 2024, her granddaughter Lisa Auerbach, her parents Henry and Elizabeth (Winkler) Zupko, her brother Henry Zupko, and her sister Jeanette Stankowitz. Their absence is felt deeply, yet the legacy of love they created remains alive in the hearts of their family.
She is survived by her loving daughter Elizabeth Goracy (Joseph) of Smithville, NJ, her son Edward H. O'Brien (Gerda) of Clark, NJ, her grandson Edward J. O'Brien (Michelle), and her great-grandchildren, Julia & Ethan O'Brien, and Jennifer Gaspar. Elizabeth's family was her pride and joy, and the love they shared will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services will be held on Friday, December 27th, beginning with a Visitation at Our Lady of Peace Church in North Brunswick from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 North Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
