Edward M. Schultz

March 8, 1945 — January 4, 2019

Edward M. Schultz Jr., of Old Bridge, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019, at Raritan Bay Hospital in Old Bridge. He was 73. Born on March 8, 1945, to Edward Sr. and Frances (Hancox) Schultz of Lawrence Harbor, New Jersey, he's lived in Old Bridge for the past 50 years.

Ed was a student of both Monmouth College and Rutgers University studying math and chemistry, and went on to work as a senior lab and research technician for three major companies: National Lead in Sayreville, NJ; General Foods in Cranbury, NJ; and most recently Loreal USA (Cosmair) in Clark, NJ. He received a patent in 1984 for Cocoa Snack.

He also served the parish of St. Thomas Church in Old Bridge, NJ as an usher at Sunday mass for decades.

He enjoyed gardening, horse racing, and taking pictures with a childhood dream of one day working for Mad Magazine.

Retiring in 2011, he spent his summer days in the pool soaking up the sunshine.

His sense of humor and biting sarcasm will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of nearly 52 years; his four daughters: Donna Parodi of Milltown, Vicki Phillips of Little Egg Harbor, Alysia Knowles of Beachwood, and Candice Schultz of Little Egg Harbor; his four grand children, Kristin, Eric, Jessica, and Christopher; his brother Roy C. Schultz of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and former colleagues.

Services will be private for the family. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. You may sign the online obituary "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
