Dr. Lajwanti R. Jhaveri

Dr. Lajwanti Ramesh Jhaveri, of Somerset, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick.  She was 84.

Born in Karachi, British India, she came to the United States in 1970.  She resided in Short Hills for 41 years, before moving to Somerset ten years ago.

Dr. Jhaveri was a doctor of anesthesiology for forty years at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, retiring in 2014.  In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, knitting/sewing and good dark chocolate.

Surviving is her loving husband, Dr. Ramesh Jhaveri; her sons Dr. Ravi Jhaveri (Caren) of Evanston IL and Sanjiv Jhaveri of NYC; and her beloved grandchildren Malini and Rajan.  She’s predeceased by 7 sisters and 2 brothers.

At her request, pooja services will be held with close family and friends, on Saturday, February 3^rd from 9:00 – 11:00 am at Franklin Memorial Park, Rt. 27 & Cozzens Lane, North Brunswick.  Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown Nj 08850.  You may sign the online condolence “guestbook” at www.crabiel.com .
