Dr. Charles Thomas Schenck

May 27, 1934 — July 10, 2018

Dr. Charles Thomas Schenck, of North Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at home. He was 84.

Born in Monticello, NY, he lived in Hoboken, College Station, East Brunswick and Avondale before moving to North Brunswick.

Dr. Schenck was a Veterinarian and owned the Edgebrook Veterinary Hospital in East Brunswick, for over 40 years. Tom was a natural "Dr. Doolittle" who, by the age of 5, already knew that he wanted to help animals. Through a lot of hard work and a healthy dose of natural talent, he found his way to Texas A&M where he realized his dream.

He never stopped learning and became an expert in animal acupuncture and homeopathic medicine. His way with animals was matched by his bedside manner with people, especially with his sense of humor and determination to make the best of everything that life threw at him.

He was a member of AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association), Texas A&M Alumni Association (College of Veterinary Medicine), American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, and former President and member of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture.

He was married twice and had 2 boys each time (Tom, Glen, Daniel & Steve). He was a good father and husband who did his best to instill such values as hard work and love. We'll miss him dearly. He accomplished a lot in life, but he never fixed his two left feet.

Tom is predeceased by his wife Maria Schenck (d. 2012) and his son William Thomas Schenck (d. 2016).

Surviving are his sons Glen of North Dinwiddie, VA, Steven of Monmouth Jct. and Daniel of Alameda, CA; his girlfriend Maureen Jacobsen; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
