Donald S. DiCenzo, 84, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. He was born and raised in McKees Rocks, PA and moved to East Brunswick in 1963.
Donald received his Bachelors Degree and Master's Degree from Edinboro College, in Pennsylvania for teaching. Later he continued his education with a Certification from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in School Psychology. He was employed by the East Brunswick Board of Education, first as a teacher, a librarian, a school counselor and school psychologist until his retirement in 1990. Donald was previously a teacher with the McKees Rocks, PA school system.
He was a member of the East Brunswick Board of Education for three years. Donald also served as an advocate for special needs children. He gave of his time at Camp Daisy in Bicentennial Park, a camp for special needs children for many years. Donald worked with the Meals on Wheels program delivering meals to senior citizens.
Predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary, his siblings, Frank, Jr., Arnie, and Lola DiCenzo and Laura Gariti, he is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Phyllis (Howell) and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private under the direction of The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 North Main Street at Riva Avenue, Milltown, NJ.
