Diane Raughley, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was born on July 3, 1959, to the late Walter and Ann Chmura.
Diane dedicated 27 years of her life to serving the North Brunswick Board of Education, where she touched the lives of many students and colleagues. Her commitment and passion for education were truly inspiring.
Among her many accomplishments, Diane was particularly proud of her role as the former president of the North Brunswick Volunteer Engine Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary. Her dedication to helping others and making a difference in her community was exemplary.
She is predeceased by her Sister Joyce Mancuso, Maryann Buzzell. Brother John Chmura.
Outside of her career and volunteer work, Diane found joy in spending time with her beloved husband, John Jay Raughley, and their son, John Jay Raughley Jr. Family was at the center of Diane's life, and she cherished every moment with her loved ones.
In addition to her husband and son, Diane is survived by her sister Christine Sherlock (Robert), nieces Joyce Sherlock and Sherri Saladian (Jonathan), nephews Lance Chmura, Phillip Chmura (Sara), Brian Chmura (Tori), as well as Robert Sherlock (Kara). Sister-in-law Paula Chmura, Brother-in-law Angelo Mancuso and her beloved silver Lab dog Casey.
Diane's warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering strength will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was truly loved and admired by many.
Visitation will be held on April 9th, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Crabiel Home For Funerals in Milltown. A Funeral Service will take place on April 10th at 10:00 AM at the same location. Following the service, interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. Diane's memory will live on in our hearts forever. Her spirit will continue to inspire us to be kinder, more compassionate individuals. In Lieu of flowers can be made to the Milltown Rescue Squad.
