David G. Chehade, of East Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 77.
Born in Beirut Lebanon, he came to the United States in 1971. He lived in Detroit, MI and most of his life in North Brunswick, before moving to East Brunswick 5 years ago.
He was in charge of security for Union Carbide / Dow Chemical, for 18 years, retiring in 2008. Before coming to the United States, he was a police officer and EMT in Lebanon. David was very involved in the Lebanese Kataeb Party and recently received recognition for over 50 years of service from the New York Chapter.
David was a very devoted parishioner of St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church in Somerset. He loved fishing, rock diving and swimming.
He's predeceased by his parents George and Anne (Chamoun) Shehade; his brother Salim, Toni and Joseph Shehade; and his sisters Angel Azar, Georgette Estaphan and Jeanette Shaheen.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 54 years, Mona (Farah) Chehade; his sons Paul, Pierre and Marcel, all of East Brunswick, and Salim of Manalapan; his brother Elie Shehade of East Brunswick; his sisters Juilette Ayoub of Kendall Park, Bernadette Chehade of New Brunswick, and Josephine Wainwright of Louisville, KY; and 7 grandchildren David Chehade, Alice Chehade, Cezar Chehade, Chelsey Chehade, Christine Chehade, Christopher Chehade, Juliana Asmar
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 31st, 10:00 am, at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church, Easton Ave, Somerset. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
