Cindy Lou (Novak) Maynard

Cindy Lou (Novak) Maynard, age 53 of Horseheads , NY formerly of Milltown , NJ passed away on Tuesday January 16, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Cindy was born January 12, 1965 in New Brunswick, the daughter of Milton and Ruth (Schork) Novak, and raised in Milltown, NJ.

At the age of 5 Cindy became a competitive artistic roller skater. Her first competition was in Wooster MA. Throughout her skating career she received many awards and was NJ state figure skating champion in her division.

She was a graduate of Spotswood High School Class of 1983 where she was Salutatorian and received her Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers College of Pharmacy. While at Spotswood High School, she received Varsity letters in field hockey, cheerleading and track. She held the school's discus record for 8 years, and was named scholar athlete at graduation.

Cindy worked as a Pharmacist for Kravet's Pharmacy in Spotswood, before relocating to Horseheads. She presently was a pharmacy manager at Walgreens Pharmacy in Elmira, NY.

She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Her smile would light up the room.

Cindy is survived by her loving and devoted husband Mark Maynard; her beloved children: William Brown of Horseheads , NY , Kris Brown of Rochester, NY and Bekka Brown of Horseheads, NY ; her parents Milton & Ruth Novak of Milltown; sisters and brother-in-law : Debbie Novak of Williamstown , NJ and Sherri & Rich Monticchio of Punta Gorda, Florida and five nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of caring friends .

Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family on Saturday, June 16th, from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
