Catherine Waldron Jones D'Isa

Catherine Waldron Jones D'Isa, of Piscataway, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was raised in Essex, CT, and attended the University of Illinois. She met her future husband Frank D'Isa on college break and eloped a week later. They lived in New Haven, CT, Long Island, NY and Sparta, NJ before retiring to Florida. After Frank's passing, she moved to Piscataway 8 years ago.
Catherine loved her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Catherine was a saleswoman for Sears in Rockaway, before retiring. She lived to cook, loved to swim and was an avid reader. A lifelong Democrat, she loved politics and her news programs!
Catsie, as she was fondly known to her family, had a movie worthy love story. Her engagement and marriage to "Buzzy" (Frank) was a whirlwind. Their love lasted over 5 decades of ups and downs. But through it all they were an inspiration.
She's predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Frank J. D'Isa (d. 2011), her son, Frank D'Isa Jr. (d. 2000), and her grandson Michael D'Isa, Jr. (d. 2003).
Surviving are her sons, Christian F. D'Isa and his wife Mina of Florida, Michael G. D'Isa and his wife Linda of Kearny, NJ and Nicholas P. D'Isa and his wife Mary of Haslett, MI; her daughters Councilwoman Gabrielle D. Cahill and her husband Shawn of Piscataway, NJ and Melanie S. Waldman and her husband Scott of Cranford, NJ; her brother John Jones and his wife Allison of North Sutton, NH; her sisters Waldron Sally Janke and her husband Paul of Chula Vista, CA, and Bonnie Botham and her husband Les of Willowbrook, CO; and her grandchildren Nicole D'Isa and her wife, Jeannelle, Michael Cahill and his wife Jessica, Clancey Catherine D'Isa, Nicholas Czarniawski, Faith D'Isa, Quinn D'Isa, and Toby and Maya Waldman and her great-grandaughter, Noel. So many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 13th, 10:00 am, at St. Frances Cabrini RC Church, Netherwood Avenue, Piscataway. Friends and relatives may call on Friday, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 North Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org You may sign the online condolence "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
