Sadly, we announce the passing of Carole Sue Kupferschmid Pestreich, of Monroe Township, NJ. Carole passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 89.
Born in Brooklyn, she grew up in Laurelton and raised a family in Glen Oaks and New Hyde Park, NY. In retirement she and her husband split their time between Boynton Beach, Florida and Monroe Township, NJ.
While raising her family, Carole worked for 21 years at Long Island Jewish Hospital in New Hyde Park, NY . Carole enjoyed traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, card games and golf.
She's predeceased by her parents Harry and Mae (Asher) Kupferschmid and her sister Florence Umanoff.
Surviving is her husband of 70 years, Murray Pestreich; her son Robert Pestreich of Laurence Harbor, her daughters Linda Pestreich of Kendall Park and Nancy Thompsett of Maidstone, Kent, UK; her grandchildren Adam and Brett Pestreich; and her sister Norma Salken of SC.
Graveside services will be Monday, May 9th, 1:00 pm, at New Montefoire Cemetery in West Babylon, NY. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. You may sign the online condolence "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
