Barbara J. DeCarlo, of East Brunswick, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 86. Born and raised in Hoboken, she raised her family in East Brunswick. She lived in Milltown for many years, before moving back to East Brunswick 15 years ago.
Barbara worked in the human resource department at Macy’s in East Brunswick and Epix in Woodbridge. She most recently worked for Vantage in Woodbridge before retiring.
She was a parishioner of Trinity Presbyterian Church in East Brunswick. She was very active with Trinity She was head of the Discipling Ministry and worked for the church in her retirement. She received a certificate in Theological Studies from New Brunswick Theological Seminary and taught Adult Education at church.
Barbara loved spending time in Cape May. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert E. Ramsen (d. 1983), her second husband, Guy DeCarlo (d. 2007) and her parents LeRoy and Josephine (Stocker) McGrath.
Surviving are her children JoAnn Abraham (Joseph) of Milltown, Debra O’Halloran (David) of Somerset and Robert Ramsen (Dawn) of Spotswood; her grandchildren Joseph and Christopher Abraham, David O’Halloran II and Daniel O’Halloran, Kaitlyn Flores and Krystal Weeks; and 2 great grandchildren Joseph III and Mina.
A Visitation for friends and relatives will be held on Friday, November 1st, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 10:00 am at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 367 Cranbury Rd, East Brunswick. Burial will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery in Tennent NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church - Adult Education Fund. You may sign the online condolence “guestbook” at www.crabiel.com
