Arlene M. Kuhlthau, formerly of Milltown, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, VA. She was 101. Born in Highland Park on March 29, 1916, she lived in Milltown for 74 years, before moving to Manassas 3 years ago.
Mrs. Kuhlthau was an active member of St. Paul's Church United Church of Christ in Milltown, and the St. Paul's Women's Guild for over 70 years. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed playing Bingo in her later years. She loved spending time with her family and entertaining her many friends, especially in the family home in Lavallette, where she spent summers for more than 50 years. . She will be remembered and missed very muchby all who knew her.
She was a 1936 graduate of Pratt Institute. She and worked as a dietician Dietician for Roosevelt Hospital in Edison until her marriage in 1941.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Merton W. Kuhlthau (d. 1989), a practicing dentist in Milltown for over 45 years and her brother, Edward L. McGinnis, formerly of Highland Park.
Surviving are her two daughters and sons- in- law: Gail and Paul Potito of Leland, NC and Karen and Ray Roberson of Gainesville, VA; her sister Marilyn Edwards of Wallingford, CT; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday, July 21, 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM and on Saturday, July 22 at 9:00 AM at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 10:00 AM at Crabiel.
