Anthony "Tony" Korobejnyk, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Milltown, New Jersey. Born on August 31, 1946, in Cornburg, Germany, Tony's heart always belonged to his family and his community.
Tony dedicated much of his professional life to working as a Supervisor at Hercules chemical factory in Sayreville and later Dupont, where he exemplified an unwavering work ethic. He retired in 2014, leaving behind not just colleagues but also a legacy of commitment and respect within the workforce.
His passion for service extended far beyond his career. In 1978, Tony joined the Milltown Fire Company, where he actively participated in his community for decades. Throughout his tenure, he rose through the ranks, serving as Firefighter, Foreman, Treasurer, Past-president, Assistant Chief, and finally holding the esteemed position of Deputy Chief. Tony's dedication to firefighting was more than a duty; it was a calling that spoke to his character and love for helping others.
A graduate of South River High School, Tony cherished education and lifelong learning, though his true classroom was the life he shared with his wife, Diane Korobejnyk, whom he had been with since the eighth grade. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership, growing stronger through the years as they navigated the joys and challenges of family life together.
Tony was a devoted father to his son David Korobejnyk of Milltown and his daughter Patricia Breheney, married to James, of North Brunswick. He cherished each moment with his grandchildren, Ryan Breheney, (Haja), Sean Breheney, (Fiance Caroline), Danny Breheney, and Anthony Korobejnyk. The joy of being a grandfather and later a great-grandfather to little Charles Breheney was a source of immense happiness for him, as he found fulfillment in watching his family grow.
Tragically, Tony experienced the profound sorrow of losing his son, Michael Korobejnyk, earlier in 2025, a heartache that profoundly impacted him and those who loved them. Yet, through his challenges, he demonstrated resilience, always offering support to others even in his times of need.
Tony was not just a remarkable service member and family man; he also had a lighter side. He enjoyed cheering for the Yankees and was an avid supporter of South River Football, often found reminiscing about old games with friends and family. His personality was characterized by unwavering kindness; he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and often went out of his way to be there for others.
As friends and family gather to celebrate Tony’s extraordinary life, his legacy of love, service, and community commitment will forever resonate in their hearts. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane; children Patricia and David; grandchildren; great-grandchild; and a multitude of friends and community members whose lives he touched deeply.
