March 18, 1918 — December 22, 2019

Ann (Sujkowski) Pellecchia, of East Brunswick, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019, at Preferred Care at Hamilton. She was 101.

Ann was the daughter of Polish immigrants who arrived in this country in 1908 and 1909. She was born in Newark, NJ and was the last survivor of her parents' 7 children. She lived in East Orange before moving to East Brunswick 63 years ago.

Ann was a devout Catholic, and a long-time communicant of Corpus Christi RC Church and Saint Stephen's RC Church. She was an expert craftswoman, well known for her beautiful and intricate needle work, knitting, and crochet. She was a member of the East Brunswick Hawaiian Dancers and the Legion of Mary.

Ann was predeceased by her husband, Joseph (Plakey) Pellecchia, the love of her life, who died in 1966. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters Jenny, Steven, Casimir, Joseph, Frances, and Mary.

During her almost 102 years, she had witnessed so much. She lived through the Great Depression as a teenager (working as a live-in maid at age 13), and during World War II she was on the home-front as a young wife and mother.

She brought up 6 sons: Christopher, Peter, John, Frank, Joseph, and Robert, 3 of whom served in the US military in times of National crisis:
Robert, US Navy, Cuban Missile Crisis,
Joseph, US Navy, Vietnam, and
Frank, US Air Force, Vietnam

Among her progeny are teachers, lawyers, engineers, musicians, business consultants, administrators, a police detective, and a professional dancer.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law: Frank and Mary Pellecchia of Franklin Park, Robert and Michelle Pellecchia of Dayton, Joseph and Barbara Pellecchia of Allentown, John and Carol Pellecchia of North Brunswick, Peter Pellecchia of Danville, VA, and Christopher and Karen Pellecchia of Little Egg Harbor.
