Anila Chandra

November 19, 1953 — February 2, 2019

Anila Chandra, of Piscataway, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at home. She was 65. Born in Bombay, India, she came to the United States in 1975 and resided in Philadelphia, before moving to Piscataway 38 years ago.

Anila worked for AT&T in Bridgewater, for 36 years, before retiring as marketing and pricing manager. She was a member of the Indian Cultural Association of Central Jersey. She was very social, enjoying getting together with her friends, prayer groups and participating in bone marrow drives. She loved watching football and rooting for the Giants and 49ers. She also liked doing crafts and was an avid traveler.

Surviving is her husband of 43 years, Dhanji Chandra; her son Anil Chandra of West New York; her daughter, Avni Chandra of Piscataway; and her sisters Hansa Chandra of Bombay, Daksha Benjamin of Piscataway; and Rekha Thonge of Piscataway.

Funeral arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Pooja services will be held on Wednesday, February 6th, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Franklin Memorial Park, Cozzens Lane & Rt. 27, North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Be the Match, the National Marrow Donation Program, www.bethematch.org .
