Allen W. Springer, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully in his home. He was born on February 25, 1930 in Newark, NJ. Allen was a dedicated individual who proudly served in the Army Airforce from 1951 to 1955, receiving accolades such as the Army Occupation Medal (Germany), National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal for honorable service.
Throughout life, Allen wore many hats - from his time in the United States Air Force to his long career as a Financial Advisor at PSE&G. He was known for his expertise and commitment to helping others with their financial well-being.
Allen had a warm and loving personality that endeared him to all who knew him. He was an active member of the Dutch Reformed Church in Newark, where he served as an elder, as well as Georges Road Baptist Church in North Brunswick where he was a Deacon and led the Boys Brigade. In his leisure time, Allen enjoyed watching baseball, football, and basketball games, especially cheering on the New York Mets. His membership at the Raritan River Boat Club in Edison brought him great joy and camaraderie.
Family meant everything to Allen. He is survived by his son Jeffrey P. Springer; daughters Susan L. Applegate (David Applegate) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Linda G. Schuster (Jerry Bicknell) of Lawrenceville, NJ; grandchildren David Jr., Daniel, Douglas, Jeremy, Matthew, Rachel, Jesse and Sarah; along with 11 great-grandchildren.
Services to honor and celebrate Allen's life will be held at The Crabiel Home for Funerals in Milltown on June 21st. A visitation will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service starting at 8:00 PM. Interment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union on June 22nd at 10:00 AM.
Allen W. Springer will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he shared with all those around him. He touched the lives of many, and created lasting memories for those who were fortunate enough to know him.
