Allen Bachenheimer

December 19, 1941 — August 28, 2022

Allen Bachenheimer, of East Brunswick, NJ and New York City, passed away on August 28, 2022 after a multi-year battle with multiple myeloma cancer. Born in New York City on December 19, 1941 as the only child of Josef and Herta, he attended the prestigious Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated from the Baruch School of Business from the City College of New York with a degree in Accounting. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant License and worked for decades for a variety of firms, retiring as a partner from BDO Seidman in Manhattan.


He was predeceased by his wife, Letty, in 2001. He is survived by his three children; Barry (Stacey) , Amy (Ben), and Eric (Lauren), and five grandchildren Lea, Brett, RJ, Samantha, and Jason.


He lived his life by the philosophy of always providing for his family, being generous, and kind to friends and family, and always being organized and prepared for anything life would throw at him. He was a dutiful caregiver for both his wife and mother during their later years. An avid runner for many decades, he completed several marathons and half marathons. His hobbies included playing and singing music (especially Doo-Wop), Master's Swimming, Broadway, travel, and enjoying comedy movies. He was an active congregant at the East Brunswick Jewish Center for decades.


He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Tributes and donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.


Funeral Services will take place at Cedar Park Cemetery Chapel at 2pm, Monday August 29, 2022. Interment to follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
