Abraham J. Brook, of Piscataway, passed away Wednesday, June 06, 2018 at Merwick Care Center in Plainsboro. He was 96.

Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Piscataway and was blissfully married to his wife, our mother, Helen, for over 61 years. He and Helen had three children, Sandra, Sharon and David. He skillfully remodeled the family house and yard for many years since 1953. A US Army Veteran, during WWII, he was stationed in a hospital receiving wounded soldiers in Belem, Brazil.

He was a loving and devoted husband, son, father and grandfather and always found the time for family. He was predeceased by Helen in 2006.

Abraham received his bachelor's degree from Cornell University in microbiology in 1943. He worked for ER Squibb and Sons in New Brunswick for 40 years, starting as a lab assistant and retiring as the Manager of the Biological Control Department.

Both before and after retirement, he enjoyed golfing, tennis and traveling, especially crossing the world on cruises after retirement. He was a talented painter and photographer, gardener and chef. Most significantly, he had a lifelong love of classical music and actively supported the arts, education and social justice issues.
